1. Objective
The main objective of this Two day intensive seminar for Food Processor is to learn to efficiently integrate the requirements of the National Organic Program into Food Processors existing Quality Assurance Program.
2. When and Where
The next training will be held at the Quality Inn and Suites in Santa Ana, CA on March 13 & 14, 2008, prior to the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA
3. Training Details
The training will have as a key starting point the requirement of the National Organic Program Standards: Applicants for Organic Certification need to present an organic system plan (OSP) to an accredited certifier that includes information how applicant will monitor its own compliance with the standard. The training will then focus on techniques to create and maintain an efficient and transparent data retrieval system. This process will bring empowerment to the applicant, who becomes fully aware where the compliance and non-compliance issues are. Applicants will be asked to bring their laptop computer to the training so that programmed Excel Spread Sheets may be downloaded from a CD.
The training will explain the history of organic standards and put legal language into easy to understand concepts. Substantial blocks of time are set aside for answering of questions.
What should applicants expect at the yearly inspection? How to be well prepared?
What is the function of the USDA, NOP ? What is the difference between organic certifiers and independent organic inspectors?
What is a sample audit trail and what are the chain of custody issues?

4. Registration
Registration is currently open and closes on February 13, 2008. The minimum number of attendants is 15. Registration will be confirmed not later than Feburary 20, 2008. The maximum number of attendants is 25. Click here to register for this training.
The fee for this training is $1295.00. This includes a copy (both electronic and paper) of the updated National Organic Program, downloadable EXCEL exercise pages as well as Lunch buffet on March 13th & 14th and Dinner on March 13th. Costs of the Hotel Room are not included in the training fee. A sufficient number of suites are blocked, to allow training registrants to reserve rooms at the Quality Inn and Suites in Santa Ana, CA at a special rate.
